When I was given the devil's tablets and told to chew them, the grownups were horrified when I spewed them out on their lace bedspread (we were at a colleague/contact of my father's when I was taken ill with a high temperature). I don't think he got the business. I've never in nearly six decades forgotten the revolting taste.
