Recently the good old Middlesbrough has been labelled as the worst place to live in Britain, with Edinburgh top of the poll.
I work in Middlesbrough and was most amused to see this rant by good old Jeff Stelling, he backs up our office sentiment entirely!

I don’t know Middlesbrough but the only thing I can say about that, is that you people are lucky to be Englsh and to live there!! I would do whatever it takes to go and live my life there!!! I hate this f***ing place where I live. I don’t know why, but I think the UK is fascinating!!! {Mod - minor language edit}
This was very, very amusing. Many thanks “Badgerclaw”. Reminds me of what I’m coming back to in two weeks. I missed out on mushy peas on Bonfire Night, but will celebrate everything Northern (good bridges and Captain Cook) when I get back.
Stelling should definitely get a job for the tourist board - an impressive rant.
What a superb defence of ones own area! Recently drove through the Boro and have to say it wasn’t a pretty sight, though it has been in its glorious past. And areas round it are pleasant.
Stelling’s mention of such luminaries as Captain Cook, Dorman Long and the rest was a salutory lesson for those south of Watford Gap.

I hear Jeff has been given an honoary degree by Teesside Uni, I believe this rant helped him to victory!
