Taxi Meters

Taxi meters seem to have no rhyme or reason.

For a start, when you first get into a taxi, the meter is already at a fairly high number, which seems entirely arbitrary, particularly given that you had to go to the taxi rank on foot.

Following this, the meter keeps ticking up at a rapid rate, no matter what speed the taxi is doing, or how much distance it covers.

Something should be done.
